FLM CP38-L4 II 10X Carbon Fiber Series II Tripod
The FLM CP38-L4 II 10X Carbon Fiber Series II Tripod is built to support any almost any professional grade camera and lens combo. The secret is the durable Carbon Fiber and aluminum build which gives it an impressive load capacity of 121.25 lbs. and a weight of only 4.9 lbs.
The CP38-L4 also features FLM's leg locking system, which allows you to adjust the height in a number of seconds, while still giving each section a strong and durable hold, whether it is at its maximum height of 68.3 in. or at its minimum height of 3.6 in. With a folded length of 23 in. it is still designed for easy travel.
Like all FLM's II series tripods the CP38-L4 II features removable rubber feet and spikes to increased steadiness for your shot. You also have the option of adding a 75 or 100mm video bowl to your tripod; each of these bowls is available separately.
Recommended ball heads are CB-43, CB-48 & CB-58

I recently started using FLM gear about 3 months ago for all photography work. In the past I used RRS until a friend suggested I check out there gear. What I can say after using this gear in the rain, mud, salty ocean environments, and backpacking in harsh elements that it is not only as good as RRS, but better! The leg height knobs are all metal which eliminates the concern of the rubber grips breaking free like RRS tripods after many uses. Also, the quick release function for leg angle is a much better design as well for quick adjustment. These tripods are extremely we'll made and highly recommended. If you want to take it a step further I would suggest checking out their ball mounts as well. If you do any landscape photography then you will enjoy the built in 15 degree pan adjustment that takes all the guess work out of a panoramic shots. I received my CP38 L4 II tripod this week. It's an absolutely solid piece of gear. Used it once for bird photography, performed flawlessly. I own 3 quality tripods. The other two are manufactured by well-known companies which have sterling reputations. I would rate my FLM as the best of the three.
