This is the perfect all around tripod for me. It collapses down small enough and is light enough to fit on the side of my Peak Everyday Backpack while I hike. It gets high enough (Taller than my fridge) and low enough (Shorter than a coke bottle) for any shot I can see myself taking. And is an absolute sturdy unit. Love that it doesn't have a center column and still get so high. The fit and finish is amazing and the legs come loose with just about an eighth of a turn. They drop out smoothly when loosened. I couldn't be happier with it. In fact I'm considering saving up for the FLM Travel Tripod for when I'm able to travel again. Honestly if you're on the fence just buy it, it's the same quality of tripods that cost double or triple what this does, I have no complaints.

I finally got a chance to really use this recently in Iceland. This was my first tripod w/ spiked feet which were great. I'm about 5'-10" and can comfortably use this with only 4 of the legs extended most of the time, which leaves some flexibility for when I need the 5th extension. I opted for this over the S4 primarily for the more compact folded size. I initially wasn't sold on the metal twist locks, which feel a bit sharp in the hand, but after more use I think they are fine. They work great with gloves. The carbon legs' and metal locks' finishes scratch a little easily but it is not excessive. I feel the leg angle is a little on the narrow side, sometimes moving out one leg to the next widest angle helps if you are in a precarious location. Overall this is a great tripod, and I would likely purchase again.
