The GX series features a low-profile design, a beautifully anodized satin-surface ball, short-travel pan control and the popular, FLM-designed 15˚ Stop function.

These ball heads are built to last, offering the same 10-year warranty as our previous FT series heads, and will never weigh you down.

Excellent quality, no wobbling knobs, smoothly rotating ball and a firm grip. I would give five stars but since there is no friction adjustment, the protruding lock lever is prone to be inadvertently touched and moved to a position where the ball suddenly loosely flops around. This may not be an issue if no camera and lens is mounted, but if it is, it can damage the camera and lens as it will cause both to "bang" into the ball head or tripod. Because of this design implementation, it would have been safer if the lock lever was on the left (because the camera grip is on the right) so that the right hand can keep the camera in position and lock the ball with the left hand. For night photography, navigating in the semi dark provokes the above scenario. A preset friction would avoid this scenario. Hence, never set the lever so that there is enough tension/friction to leave the camera alone because the slightest touch can be disastrous. Always fully lock the ball head.
